John Gerold - Director & Coach

John has been coaching girls lacrosse for over 14 years going back to 2000. He is level 1 and 2 certified in US Lacrosse and has coached all levels and age group K-8 and coached high school indoor.  He has been coaching and refereeing boys and girls sports for over 25 years (Baseball, Basketball, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, Wrestling and Rugby). He started Lax 4 Life, which is a invite only boutique lacrosse club in Olney/Sandy Spring, 3 years ago.


John started this program to allow girls to play together with friends and have FUN with great and experienced coaches.  He resides in Sandy Spring Maryland with his wife and four kids; Lyndsey, a Sr. at Good Counsel and Haley an 8th grader, Lauren a 6th grader and son John Jr., a 3rd grader, all three at St. Peters.


Tim Battist-Coach  



Tim Battista has been coaching Sandy Spring Lacrosse for the last 9 years. He is US Lacrosse Level 2 certified. Tim is an Oceanographer for NOAA and has three daughters: Franny plays for Lax4Life, and Allie (goalie) and Molly (defense) play for Our Lady of Good Counsel (both Lax4Life alumni).  

Tracy Graziano - Coach

Tracy has coached lacrosse at the youth and high school levels for over 15 years. On field experience comes from playing in high school near Philadelphia and in college as a recruit for Northwestern University.  Tracy played both line defense and offense.  Most of her coaching was in the Chicago area for Barrington High School and Lacrosse America camps.  

 Tracy recently returned east from the midwest and began coaching with Lax4Life in 2010.

Jeff Wong - Coach

Jeff Wong is entering his 3rd year of coaching girls lacrosse (2nd year at Lax4Life) and is US Lacrosse Level 1 certified.  Jeff has coached 4 years of boy’s lacrosse at Sandy Spring and OBGC and enjoys coaching his kids' basketball teams. Jeff picked up a stick for the first time in the 6th grade and played through high school in Howard County.  Jeff has a daughter (2nd grade) and a son (5th grade) who both attend Flower Valley Elementary School in Rockville.

David Booth Jr - Coach

David is a Maryland native who started playing lacrosse at 5 and continued through high school where he was a goalie for The John Carroll School in Bel Air, MD.  He has coached with Lax 4 Life for the past 3 years and is a Certified Level 1 Coach through U.S. Lacrosse.  He attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy where did play some lacrosse and football.


Lauren Wilson - Coach

Lauren Willson also grew up in the Olney area.  Lauren attended St. Johns Episcopal school and played Lacrosse for St. Peters from 5th-8th grade. She went on to high school at Our Lady of Good Counsel where she played both Field Hockey and Lacrosse. Lauren coached the Good Counsel JV Field Hockey team for both the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Lauren currently works at a printing company in Bethesda, Maryland.  Lauren coached the Lax4Life 7th and 8th grade B team with Jackie Valois this past fall and is also very excited to return this Spring!

Joe Rudolph- Coach



Joe has been coaching girls lacrosse for the past decade at various levels including rec, club and high school.  He is US Lacrosse Level 3 Certified.  In addition, along with his wife Andrea, he has served as program director for local girls lacrosse and field hockey programs and has also coached field hockey for a number of years.  Joe and his wife Andrea who live in Olney, have 2 daughters, Madeleine (2022 at Good Counsel and Hannah (2024 at Rosa Parks MS) who both play club lacrosse and field hockey.  Joe enjoys coaching at all levels and thoroughly takes pride in helping players develop not only as players but also as people.


John Keating - Coach

John Keating has been coaching with Lax for Life for the past 3 years as both a Head and Assistant Coach.   Prior to joining Lax for Life John Coached 2 years of girls lacrosse at St Peters.  John’s daughter Lauren is a member of the 2018 Lax for Life team and also plays for the Rebels Lacrosse Club.  John lives in Olney and grew up in Bethesda where he played Football and Rugby at Walt Whitman High School before attending the University of Maryland where he was a member of the Rugby team. 

Brandon Morick - Coach

Brandon has 8 years of coaching experience including more than 6 years for Girls Lacrosse. He has participated in numerous coaches clinics and is a certified Level 1 Coach.  This is his third season with Lax 4 Life.

Tim Battista - Coach

Tim Battista has been coaching Sandy Spring Lacrosse for the last three years, as well as girls soccer for OBGC. He is US Lacrosse Level 1 certified. Tim is an Oceanographer for NOAA and has three daughters - Allie, Molly, and Franny.

Bruce Lipka - Coach
Bruce Lipka has been coaching Girls Lacrosse for 5 years.  Prior to that Bruce had 7 years experience coaching Boys Lacrosse.  No stranger to the coaching profession Bruce has over 30 years of coaching experience, including a decade at the Division I college level as a head tennis coach. Bruce has been a 3 time college coach of the year and 4 time USPTA professional of the year.  Bruce enjoyed coaching Lax so much that he picked up a stick and has played on several Men's teams in various leagues and tournaments. Bruce resides in Derwood with daughter Samantha, 11, who attends Belmont Elementary School, son David, 17, who attends Georgetown Prep and will be playing Lacrosse at West Point, and daughter Jessica, 18, Freshman at the University of Florida.
